Cort's 5th Birthday

Cort had a great 5th birthday, with a lot of celebrating!  The day before Cort's birthday he got to celebrate with his preschool class.  He got a birthday crown, and brought in Oreo's for his birthday treat.  I got to come in and talk to his class about him and his favorite things.  That night grandma and grandpa Smith stopped by with a present.

The day of his birthday, October 16 his preschool class went on their field trip to the pumpkin patch.  He had so much fun, and was so excited about his oddly shaped pumpkin he picked out.  While he was at school we picked up Subway for lunch and some balloons.  We picked him up and drove straight to the front runner station since he wanted to ride the train for his birthday.  Unfortunately we just missed the train, but there was one that arrived a few minutes later and would depart for Salt Lake in about 45 min.  We sat on the train and ate our lunch.  Once we finally arrived in Salt Lake we walked around temple square, visited grandpa Smith at work, and went to the Disney store with grandma Smith. The Disney store even played a special birthday song for him.

That night he picked Costa Vida for dinner.  After grandma and grandpa Swenson came down for cake and ice cream.

This year Cort also got to have his very first birthday party.  He invited his cousins that are his same age and some friends from the ward.  Unfortunately Lucy was sick, but everyone else made it.  Since he is obsessed with pirates (specifically Jake and the Neverland Pirates) he had a pirate party.  He had a blast.
